Edward is a music graduate from the University of Oxford and an aspiring singer who is accomplished both as a soloist and an ensemble performer. He has performed opera and lieder with esteemed musicians such as Iain Burnside, Paul Daniel and Daniel Cohen, and has participated in masterclasses with celebrated figures such as Jonathan Cohen and Roderick Williams. Edward has performed multiple recitals with Oxford’s prestigious Eglesfield Musical Society, and in his second year won the Mendl-Schrama competition for singers and pianists. He is also a recipient of the Eleanor Margaret Scholarship. He has performed a variety of operatic roles including the Count, Antonio and Bartolo in Le Nozze di Figaro, Simone in Gianni Schicchi, Don Alfonso in Cosi fan Tutte, the Judge in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Trial by Jury, and the role of Lescaut in a scene from Massenet’s Manon, and is looking forward to singing HW in Merry Opera’s upcoming production of a staged Messiah. He was also a chorus member in RAO’s production of Carmen. Edward has performed solos from multiple Oratorios including Handel’s Messiah, Fauré’s Requiem, and Bach’s cantatas, and he has been on multiple international tours and sung in commercial recordings and BBC radio 3 broadcasts.
